TIM S.A. is one of the leading companies on the Polish market in distribution of electro technical articles, combining 25 years of industry experiences with a modern business approach. The wide spectrum of innovative solutions applied by TIM makes it the most modern company on the Polish market in its industry. The permanent offering of TIM electrical wholesaler consist of the full array of electrical engineering articles: cables, wires, cable duct systems, devices, switchgears, installation equipment, fixtures, light sources and auxiliary tools.

Siechnice, near Wrocław, is the location of the modern TIM Logistics Center with area of 30,000 square meters, ensuring the smooth deliveries to sales branches and directly to the end customer. The Central Warehouse is automated to a large extent; its significant part is the special zone for automatic storage, rewinding and cutting of cables and wires, and a stacker for the drums of up to 120 cm. in diameter. The distribution network also includes 30 wholesale points located throughout the country.

In 2010 TIM decided to implement a WMS (Warehouse Management System) class system offered by Mantis (Logistics Vision Suite - LVS). The decision was based on requirements identified during the analysis of TIM strategy for the coming years. The LVS implemented system, automates all standard warehouse operations on pallet, box, and piecewise merchandise handling units, supports the cable and wire handling equipment, sorting unit, automatic conveyors, and three - layered mezzanine zone for small dimension articles. The system cooperates with an automatic stacker for drum storage and is also integrated with rack zone operating in Pick by Light system. During the implementation, Mantis experts encountered a big diversity of storage systems, processes and articles, both in the Logistics Center and in the other branches. The key to the success was intelligent customization, allowing matching the software capabilities with the customer's needs.

Through the implementation of Logistics Vision, TIM managed to improve a number of processes on specific stages of the supply chain in a quick and effective manner. LVS system provided the management with the necessary data required for a rational business policy, which in turn allowed improving not only the product storage and distribution management, but also the work of persons employed both in the Logistics Center and the branch warehouses.
