The 17th edition of the conference was organized by the "Hungarian Association of Logistics, Purchasing and Inventory Management” (HALPIM).
More people (speakers, exhibitors and participants) attended the conference this year than in previous years. More than 460 logistics and purchasing managers, professors and students shared their insights about the current economic crisis.
The purpose of the conference was an attempt to answer the question: how to survive recession through innovation. In addition to the latest research results, the speakers presented new best practices and models used in logistics and supply chain management. The conference focused on sectors, which are more vulnerable than other in recession, and at the same time are key industries contributing to national economic growth. Most of the issues raised were relevant to the food, automotive and pharmaceutical industries.
The conference coincided with the exhibition, which present the latest results assessment systems, funding opportunities, and methods to improve efficiency in logistics. The most prestigious awards for logistics on the Internet were given during the conference.
